In 1960, the opera was conducted by Herbert von Karajan at Salzburg’s brand-new Great Festival Hall, where it was captured on 35mm film. Star soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf sings the greatest role of her life – a legendary performance that is revived by this unique document.
